The Special Reserve series are the winery’s flagship wines. This collection perfectly expresses the best in every harvest, from outstanding vineyard plots. From these plots, Recanati’s winemakers produce the wines that exemplify the winery, the harvest and the terroir.
Special Reserve Red
Special Reserve Red
Vineyard location: Upper Galilee, Golan Heights, Jezreel Valley and Judean Hills
Grape Varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Carignan and Marselan
Soil: Terra Rossa, basalt stony soil, clay, chalk and Rendzina
Altitude: 200-600 meters above sea level
Vinification: Selective hand harvest separately for each variety. Moderate temperature fermentation, free run wine only, and aging in large oak barrels. After a few months, a series of tastings is conducted by the winemakers, and then the final blend, from the most outstanding barrels will undergo further aging. Total aging period is 18 months
Tasting Notes: Special Reserve Red is a rich, full-bodied wine with balanced acidity allowing it to mature over many years. The wine has a bouquet of dark berries, black pepper and Mediterranean spices
Special Reserve White
Special Reserve White
Vineyard location: "Kidmat Tzvi", central Golan Heights, north of Israel
Grape Varieties: Roussanne & Marsanne
Soil: Basalt stony soil
Altitude: 500 meters above sea level
Vinification: Selective hand harvest separately for each variety. Gentle pressing, low temperature fermentation in large oak barrels and aging on the lees (Sur Lie) for 10-12 months
Tasting Notes: An especially rich and complex wine, medium-full bodied, with balanced acidity, a wide range of white stone fruits and mineral characteristics
